Joy of Movement

Movement should be aproached like life – .

with enthusiasm, joy and gratitude for movement is life, and life is movement,

and we get out of it what we put into it.

Your Moving-Well Body is just around the corner!

Did you know that one of the key steps to mental health is –
Movement!

My goal is to get you back on track to better movement for everyday life, longevity and mental well-being.

My work is based in Pilates, but the good news is you don’t need a studio to get the benefits!

Pilates ‘stabilizes’ and works the spine in all its range of motion: flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and rotation.
Here’s a few of the many benefits:
  • rebuild neural pathways in the brain
  • releases negative emotions and create emotional well-being
  • stimulate positive endorphin/hormone release – great for menopause
  • keep joints mobile
  • increase oxygen to the blood stream and cells
  • reduce inflammation
  • keep fascia hydrated
  • better balance
  • increased flexibility, strength and energy
We are so interconnected with our minds, emotional (well) being and our spirit that one affects the other.

After years of dancing with incorrect posture and muscle imbalance, I started with Steve Bryson in his Edmonton studio “The Body Works” Pilates in 1996.

The results spoke for themselves and I was hooked. I trained and was certified in the Pilates Method and Fletcher Pilates Teacher training.  I had a workshop with Diane Severino, another Pilates elder and contemporary of Ron Fletcher who is teaching well into her 70’s. Workshops in Yamuna Body Rolling and the ELDOA method with a little seasoning of somatic work enhance what I can bring to you.

My clients and students have experienced how the work can not only bring functional movement but transform lives that were defined by pain.

You can live your life with more energy and less pain. Don’t accept pain as a way of life – choose Joy (of Movement!)

I feel a tiny bit stiff but it’s a good and subtle stiff…. I loved the almost euphoric feeling right after yesterday’s session I saw a naturopath today and he was thrilled I was doing Pilates… his preference for muscle building and stretching plus easy on the joints . I’m so grateful to have this wonderful opportunity . Thank you Nancy
