Anyone besides me miss things that are right under your nose even though you’ve been looking high and low?

Cleaning up in the aftermath of my annual Easter egg colouring/candy hunt event for my seven grandkids, I found chocolates.

Chocolates overlooked that I purposely put out in plain sight – so that the younger young’s could find them.

(Full disclosure: I had made a list of where I hid the 14 Kindersurprises and golden Lindt rabbits in case I forgot – NANA!. – Can you relate?) I even had to tell them where some were hidden.

Really though, I am a lot like those kids, missing the obvious chocolates in life due to my limited minds’ eye view of things. I usually have a preconceived idea of where and what that would look like. And the funny thing is, I’m usually wrong.

And so it is with how God works in our lives. Sometimes we miss the amazing obvious because our focus is elsewhere and so very limited.

I’ve had to recalibrate by keeping my eyes open to the amazing things God is doing around me and through me instead of my agenda so look down, up and all around with new eyes. Maybe you’ll discover your own ‘chocolate surprise.”
