What is a recurring dream you’ve had that is so profound it keeps coming back?

Over the last number of years, I’ve had one that stands out:

“In my condo (which would take various forms in different dreams as all dreams do), I discovered a door -a door that opened into THE most beautiful expansive room (and sometimes a whole extra suite) furnished with a hearth, beautifully decorated in a greatroom kind of way.

Not old and stuffy decorated, but warm, inviting, enough room to entertain guests and have people over.

The overall feeling I got in the dream was W-O-W. I’ve had this amazing space all this time AND NEVER KNEW IT. How could it be that I’ve missed it all this time??”

We started watching “A Gentleman in Moscow” and there it was again. Once a wealthy aristocrat, Count Alexander Rostov has been confined to the servants’ quarters of the opulent hotel he used to frequent. After the overthrow of the Czar, his life spared, he is living in a servants quarters attic room under house arrest. Through an unlikely friendship with a young girl, she leads him to a door behind the closet in his sparsely furnished space into an expanse that is unknown to the heavy handed police guard.

His young friend leaves and she gives him the hotel master key. Alexander ventures out onto the roof on a snowy winter morning surveying the vastness of Moscow with a new sense of freedom.

As we move out of our winter into spring (even the seasons seem confused when to let go), does an unknown door await you? What heart desires that exist like that great room are waiting to be set free?

But…How do we open a door we don’t see or even know that is there?

Pay attention to the synchronicity of recurring thoughts, dreams and images and Holy Spirit nudgings. God has been impressing the power of the Holy Spirit on my heart– so beyond my own human frailty. My art, art therapy, and movement – it’s not about those things in and of themselves. They are doorways to connection and relationship, ultimately to bring healing and light to a dark place.

Our Father longs to give His children good gifts, a plan and hope for a future. And has given His Son, Jesus- whose death and resurrection paid the entry price, and is the Door that leads to the BEST pasture imaginable, beyond what we can ask or think. He has prepared a place beyond our wildest dreams.

In these times of increasing craziness, fear and uncertainty, if the nudge in your spirit is there, dear friends, don’t miss this Door!
