As January slushes into February, you’ve received a ton of emails with no dearth of solutions in your inbox to be ‘a better you’ and move forward from the ‘year we’d like to forget.’

Any of these resonate?
‘Kiss the trial and error approach goodbye,’ ‘setting your intention for 2023’, ‘what works for them won’t work for you,’ ‘it’s the season for diet industry madness.’ ‘Are you joining us for our new ages challenge?’ ‘It’s not just about your goals.’

There was a little voice in me saying: “Better get back on your business plan, you’re falling behind, gonna miss out.”
My New Year’s art therapy workshop would focus on pulling back the curtain on our lives, looking back on what has been and looking forward with hope and a future.

But alas and alack, I had to pull the curtain on the February 11 date. Didn’t have the response I anticipated.

In the past, I would have gotten all discouraged but have learned that what I thought was my main road, has become a side road – for now.

Funny how God works.

I had also been co-facilitating/training for the Healing the Wounds of Trauma program. (traumahealinginstitute.org). What had been in my mind, a side road, has become front and center. as opportunities are right in front of me should I choose to accept.

And, reason #2– had dental surgery.

Just before Christmas, I broke 2 bottom teeth on biscotti (no lie) just before Christmas (no lie) and after consultations, came to the God-ordained dentist who pulled the little stubs and put in implant post.

Boom. That wasn’t a road I was anticipating. But in hindsight, what was:
‘Fix this tomorrow” became ‘This is not the end of the world.’

I also felt some camaraderie with NHL hockey players who have black spaces where teeth should be.

At least it wasn’t my front teeth.

Kind of like how God works in our lives, don’t you think?

‘So, my daughter, what will this be for you: Diamonds or Disaster?”

Be still and know that I am God; Ps 46:10
For me, life seems to be a series of reframes, a deliberate act of trust and thankfulness, allowed the Holy Spirit to lead me out of funk to fabulous.
